This quote is quite interested and what it state is that when one face and conquers pain you find confidence in you inner self that will drive you to face and gain more. Nazism

The Film Nuit et Brouillard is very graphic and interesting it show the struggle and the abuse the Jew and minority of Germany was subjected too by Nazi. The part of the film that grasped my attention was seeing that despite it all they were able to still make spoon , write, organize political movement write and read a bible. Despite the horror those valiant group found still tried to make  ends meet and genuinely cared for one another .

1. What were some of the major reasons that led to the rise of Nazi Germany?

one the of the main reason that led to rise of the Nazi is the way the Wiemar voting system was designed Parliament selection was determined by overall  percentage  of the vote each party captured, somehow the Nazi party received a seat and formed a coalition with the majority .When the Nazi  were endorsed as junior partner by the DNVP they were solidified . Others reasons that help rise of Nazi Germany was the inflation and great depression .

2. How did Nazis resolve conflicts between workers and owners and why was this an attractive model for business executives?

After coming to power the Nazis were able to control class struggle by controlling the prices and wages of products and workers. Independent unions were destroyed and a Nazi controlled national union name German Labor Front stood in its place. The Manager and Executives were left in control of everything remaining because the did little to offend Nazi ideology.

3. What is the significance of the phrase "Arbeit Macht Frei?"

It means Work make one free, meaning that the more you work better you. Nazi Germany goal was to take over all factories and industrial component and try to get as much financial gain as possible from it . a sign with this saying encouraged those to work relentlessly.

Politics as a Vocation

Politics is a strong and slow boring of hard boards. It takes both passion and perspective. Certainly all historical experience confirms the truth --that man would not have attained the possible unless time and again he had reached out for the impossible. But to do that a man must be a leader, and not only a leader but a hero as well, in a very sober sense of the word. And even those who are neither leaders nor heroes must arm themselves with that steadfastness of heart which can brave even the crumbling of all hopes. This is necessary right now, or else men will not be able to attain even that which is possible today. Only he has the calling for politics who is sure that he shall not crumble when the world from his point of view is too stupid or too base for what he wants to offer. Only he who in the face of all this can say 'In spite of all!' has the calling for politics.

This quote is stating the Politic or any further advancement in life one must be a leader and take initiative . Human kind would not be were its at right if it wasn't for many courageous peoples from the beginning of history all throughout now . Whatever we want to attain you must become leaders and heroes to accomplish it.

Weimar Republic

Article 69Law drafts proposed by the Reich government require the approval of Reichsrat. If Reich government and Reichsrat cannot agree, Reich government may still propose the law, but has to present the divergent Reichsrat opinion as well. If Reichsrat passes a law draft which is not approved by the Reich government, the latter has to present the draft, with its divergent comment, to Reichstag.

The Laws  are presented toes by the Reich government and the require the approval of the the the representative of Germany, if the Reich governments and the reichasrat cannot agree the government and still enact the law but must include the opinions of the reichasrat along with it. However if the the Reichstag present a law to the Reich goverment and must received feed back from the government. I chose this Article because it was interesting to see  that overall the government has the last say in law making decision and placement.

Article 145Schooling is obligatory. This obligation is served by the Volksschule (20) with at least 8 school years and the school for further instruction, following on the former, until the completed 18th year. Instruction and learning aids are, at Volksschule and at schools for further instruction, free of charge.

Is Mandatory for all children and free of charge schooling must be provided until the person is 18 years old.
I chose this article be I like the fact that school is free and is available to anyone 18 and under, I also noted other article that showed emphasize and art and music free of charge.

1) What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of proportional representation?

The seats are distributed based on the total percentage of  votes won by a particular party. this makes the representative as the lecture state this makes the representative less responsive and less dependent on local voters. However Proportional voting has more than two political parties competing which allows minority group to have a greater voice . This can also allow group such as the Nazi to come to power while having a low percentage of votes.

2) What were the leading causes of the decline of the Wiemar Republic?
Some of the leading cause of other decline of the Wiemar republic was hyperinflation, Great depression and the rise of the Nazi.

3) What is hyperinflation?
a rapid increase in inflation where prices increase because the  money value decline.

4) How would you judge the Wiemar Constitution as compared to the American Constitution?
I consider both constitution very similar the only difference I see is that the final decision making come for the government itself despite it all . People have right but I don't think they have much say.

Junius Pamphlet

“But since we have been unable to prevent the war, since it has come in spite of us, and our country is facing invasion, shall we leave our country defenceless! Shall we deliver it into the hands of the enemy? Does not socialism demand the right of nations to determine their own destinies? Does it not mean that every people is justified, nay more, is in duty bound, to protect its liberties, its independence? ‘When the house is on fire, shall we not first try to put out the blaze before stopping to ascertain the incendiary?'''.

This quote is very interesting to me . I feel struggle , you don't want to fight but you must protect your country . It not wrong to fight when you are in a threatening position where it all or none!!

M

The Scene I chose was the "Sit Down" amongst the criminal, in this scene they are complaining about the numerous police raid due to investigation and search for this serial killer. The Criminals state that their business has been greatly affected by the murderer and the ongoing police investigation. They are trying to come up with suggestions on how to stop the investigation and their solution is to conduct their own investigation to bring down murderer so that the heavy police activity can come to an end. I find this scene  interesting because the intent of the criminal is to continue to do run their business , the only reason they want to catch the murderer in because this has come in they of their money. If this did not affect the criminal business than the criminal would have not involved themselves in helped to bring down a child murderer. In fact of them seemed to complain that every before his child goes to bed his has to check under the bed to see if the murderer is there.

1. Discuss the evolution of police power as it is depicted in Dr. Caligari and M?
In M Police have more authority are given emergency powers which allow to openly conduct searches and investigation in order to solve a crime as opposed to the police in Dr.Caligari where they had to sneak and search though Caligari's room to find the discover the dummy in place to the sonambulant killer .

2. Does the killer deserve to die?
Yes I believe he deserve to die to if he committed murder to innocent children and women. Even though he claimed that the voices directed him to do it I don't think that there was any mental issue present. He was Cohesive and able to defend himself and put up and excuse for what he did because he knew his life of on the line.

3. How does the criminals ability to organize themselves affect their ability to capture Beckert?
Criminal must organize to capture beckert along with police authority because  Beckert crime is affected their business greatly. They are able to effectively organize themselves because they are criminal as Beckert. Even though their not child murderer they can still have criminal mentality which allows to turn down or follow a  led. For instance in the meeting amongst the criminal they are trying to determine where the murderer live. The come up with different and suggest that the murderer must live in remote area where he is unnoticeable. The criminal are try to think like the serial killer.

4. How would you judge the depiction of Nazis as criminals?
They are criminals. Criminal that kill innocent people and the killer killed innocent children.

Blue Angel

The Scene that I am selecting to describe is the one early in the film where the students are laughing and joking around once the professor Rath enters the classroom the student immediately settle into their seat and await for the professor to start the lesson. The student seem to respect have great fear of  the Rath and he  knows that and takes advantage of that. Once the professor walked in he proclaimed immediate attention and he blew his nose  with his hankerchief . I believe he was teaching the student how speak in english because he made on of the student stand up and pronunciate "To Be Or Not To Be ?That The Question " outloud and kept asking the student to repeat  "The" . The Professor then asked the class to write "The" 200 Time . The Professor than proceeded to clean his eyeglasses with the same hankerchief that he blew his nose with earlier in the scene , later on into the scene the proceded to blow his nose with the same hankerchief that he cleaned his eyeglasses with, I thought that this was grotesques . I chose this scene because  I could not get over the fact that he used his hankerchief for both his nose and his eyeglasses. I thought that the director  definitely conveyed grotesque in this film.

1. How would you compare Rath/Lola to Siddhartha/Kamala?
Rath was found something in Lola that he did not possess , Charimas , natural beauty and a way with people which what attracted Rath to Lola. Rath desicions makinog were the best because the they were made with his feeling and his concrete thought which why he was alway clowned and ridule by those who once respected him.  I see Siddartha in the same way He he was in search of something different along his journey he came accross kamala whom he  fell in love with however some of the thing that he did or was involved in was not good as Rath did Siddartha completely changed from the person he once was.

2. Is Lola an emancipated woman or "totally impassive?"

I believe Lola is totally impassive she knew that she  had her way with Rath from the moment he laid eyes on her and she took advantage of that ,she riduled him to others by having dress up as a clown at Blue Angel ultimately ruined his career and reputation  with out any remorse.
3. What is the significance of the clown?

I think that Clown foreshadown Rath life. eventually he became a clown and was clowned by others. I also think that clown may have been a previous victim to Lolas venoms.

4. How is chaos thematically represented in the film?

Chaos is represent all througout the fill from the loud noise, the tone of the characters voices througout the film.

5. How would you interpret the overall meaning of the film?

The overall meaning of the film is that sometimes what we want is not best for us and we dig deep into peoples true intention because they may not always be in the best interest of the individual.

6. Why did I compare Rath to the Haussmann painting/montage? Would you suggest a better comparison?

Rath is portayed as  well respected man that is will indulged in pleasure of life. Rath is seen in the film in his most vunerable moment and dangerously in love.  There are certain aspect of life that are shun away because they are depicted as sinful yet they bring much pleasure to one.
