Blue Angel

The Scene that I am selecting to describe is the one early in the film where the students are laughing and joking around once the professor Rath enters the classroom the student immediately settle into their seat and await for the professor to start the lesson. The student seem to respect have great fear of  the Rath and he  knows that and takes advantage of that. Once the professor walked in he proclaimed immediate attention and he blew his nose  with his hankerchief . I believe he was teaching the student how speak in english because he made on of the student stand up and pronunciate "To Be Or Not To Be ?That The Question " outloud and kept asking the student to repeat  "The" . The Professor then asked the class to write "The" 200 Time . The Professor than proceeded to clean his eyeglasses with the same hankerchief that he blew his nose with earlier in the scene , later on into the scene the proceded to blow his nose with the same hankerchief that he cleaned his eyeglasses with, I thought that this was grotesques . I chose this scene because  I could not get over the fact that he used his hankerchief for both his nose and his eyeglasses. I thought that the director  definitely conveyed grotesque in this film.

1. How would you compare Rath/Lola to Siddhartha/Kamala?
Rath was found something in Lola that he did not possess , Charimas , natural beauty and a way with people which what attracted Rath to Lola. Rath desicions makinog were the best because the they were made with his feeling and his concrete thought which why he was alway clowned and ridule by those who once respected him.  I see Siddartha in the same way He he was in search of something different along his journey he came accross kamala whom he  fell in love with however some of the thing that he did or was involved in was not good as Rath did Siddartha completely changed from the person he once was.

2. Is Lola an emancipated woman or "totally impassive?"

I believe Lola is totally impassive she knew that she  had her way with Rath from the moment he laid eyes on her and she took advantage of that ,she riduled him to others by having dress up as a clown at Blue Angel ultimately ruined his career and reputation  with out any remorse.
3. What is the significance of the clown?

I think that Clown foreshadown Rath life. eventually he became a clown and was clowned by others. I also think that clown may have been a previous victim to Lolas venoms.

4. How is chaos thematically represented in the film?

Chaos is represent all througout the fill from the loud noise, the tone of the characters voices througout the film.

5. How would you interpret the overall meaning of the film?

The overall meaning of the film is that sometimes what we want is not best for us and we dig deep into peoples true intention because they may not always be in the best interest of the individual.

6. Why did I compare Rath to the Haussmann painting/montage? Would you suggest a better comparison?

Rath is portayed as  well respected man that is will indulged in pleasure of life. Rath is seen in the film in his most vunerable moment and dangerously in love.  There are certain aspect of life that are shun away because they are depicted as sinful yet they bring much pleasure to one.
