And Yet It Moves - 1943

This image is titled "And yet it Moves" and it was created in 1943 by John Heartfield . This artwork refers to a time where Galileo was asked to deny his belief that he earth revolves around the sun.  Galileo Stomped his foot and stated " And Yet It Still Moves". This inspired Heartfeld to portray hitler in disproportinate monster like body on top of the world. The earth still girates despite the fact that this "Monster" has his foot on the it. Regardless of Hitlers action the world kept on spinning even with the damage Hitler caused.

A Berlin Saying- undated
This image created by John Heartfield depicts the polical  views in a satirical manner. Human ears placed next to buttocks of a human. I believe that he trying to show that the German goverment and the Nazi regimen were senseless people that did not want to comprehend the damages done others.

  1. hey, I saw that we both chose John Hartfield, he is a great artist. I really like his style of art. However, even though he doesn't have as much techniques and color but his pictures are very nice and interesting. I also love the way he use the pictures to get his view points across, and it also tell a kind of story and its a shows the political views in a satirical view. I really the the picture you have up with John and the commissioner, which is a very direct picture. By looking at the picture you are able to get the message right away what he's trying to bring across.
